Hi

I was wondering whether any1 else has experienced the problems that i've been having with the new counterspy 3.1.2710.

The thing is, i ran a quick scan using counterspy, and it seemed to be goingto completion relatively quickly (after just 10 min). However, at 100%, with the approx. scanning time left = 0 sec remaining, it still keeps on going. The files that it was scanning starts off wit a "2416, user32.dll!.............". After 1 h, it still says that the scanning is 100% complete, eventhough it is obviously still scanning. So i just gave up and aborted it.

Has any1 else come across this issue?

One more thing, and i don't know if i'm off topic, but there doesn't seem to be an uninstall function for counterspy when i looked into the countrol panel > remove/uninstall programs. So how can i uninstall it then if i have to?

Appreciate any comments.

I never used this program but they seem to have a help forum. I found this topic answering your query re uninstalling.

Thx alot James for the link.

Yea, counterspy is suppose to be the 2nd best commercial anti-spyware software that's currently on the market in 2009. That was why i decide to go with counterspy................

Top Ten Reviews does not seem to have unbiased opinions. I think they get paid for their download links and rarely mention free software.

Have a look at their firewall list for example. Comodo and Online Armor aren't even on the list, but you never hear about some of the others they show.

For the list of good free products, i usually go to Gizmo's Freeware.............http://www.techsupportalert.com/

For the list of good commercial products, i go to Top Ten Reviews............

I know that these websites are sometimes subjective, that's why i browse thru many review websites to get an overall idea.

Anyway, my quick scanning issue is ok now........after saying that it's scanning is 100% complete for 80 min., it finally finished. No threat detected. SO i guess i won't have to be uninstalling counterspy anytime soon.
