My computer is running slower than ever, and I can't figure out how to speed it back to it's original speed. I am not sure what to do. Help please!

Since you give us nothing to work with such as Operating System? Type of machine such as desktop, or laptop? Quantity of RAM and processor. Even the most basic of equipment specifications, or even tell us what proactive actions you have undertaken yourself thus far. Without any of that information, I was not even able to move this to the proper forum.

Another topic to read is about how to best post your problem:

I'm sorry, I'm not too good with this, I use Window's XP, I'm using a desktop computer by DELL, I am operating on an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.60GHz, 1.59GHz, with 256 MB of RAM. I'm sorry, all I've ever used on this site is HiJack This. I am used to stating the problem and than the admin asking me the questions, or having me run the programs necessary to fix it. Your reply made me feel rather stupid. Simply asking me the information you require would have been a little more polite.

To try and resolve the problem, I run Ccleaner, and I've run a defragmenter several times. I know I need to get some more RAM, but when I go to the store I'm not sure what kind of ram my pc uses, so i'm unsure of what to ask for...

Hi djsrv,

Download SIW and it will tell you everything you need to know about your computer : http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html

Then you'll be able to go to the store and tell them exactly what you need.

When you have a specific problem, that might be easy to do, but with your problem, as it is stated, there are a myriad of possibilities. Although I must admit 256 MB of RAM using XP is definitely a contributor
Give us the model number and/or the service tag number and we can hook you up with the proper memory
