Hi team!

I've been a great follower of your site in the past, especially when I think the first version of the problem I'm currently having happened to me. One of your simple solutions did the trick last time, but now even MBAM won't help. It's the pop-ups, the browser gets rerouted sometimes when I click links, and I keep getting this app in my processes that clones itself when I try to end it. I'm also worried I've disabled something and won't be able to fix this.

I'm at my wits end I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Here's my HJT log:

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

Thank you for responding. At first I did not see the reply and then the problem had disappeared so I did not respond immediately. I am now incurring the same problem starting today and it has brought me nothing but stress.

In detail, my problems are three-fold:

1. Whatever is doing the browser hijacking and slowing down of my computer is also using 100% of my CPU, making it almost useless for functionality.

2. There is an unknown process called "d4i2odwmu.exe" in multiple instances appearing in my Task manager. When you attempt to end the process, it clones itself repeatedly, sometimes up to the 30 times. In addition, there are too many instances of svchost.exe running. I know because there never used to be so many.

3. After the PC is logged in, there is a random notification about being "unable to find 'null'" or something. Sometimes there is a popup exclamation; sometimes you only hear the "dong" sound meaning there is a problem but you don't see a window.

Here is my DDS log and my attached zip. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi levjennifer,

I don't see an Anti Virus Program running on your machine
  • Download and install an antivirus program, and make sure that you keep it updated
New viruses come out every minute, so it is essential that you have the latest signatures for your antivirus program to provide you with the best possible protection from malicious software.
Two good antivirus programs free for non-commercial home use are Avast! and Antivir
Note: You should only have one antivirus installed at a time. Having more than one antivirus program installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as impairing the performance of your PC.
Then please run this tool

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop but rename it as Combo-Fix.exe
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. (Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive.)
  • Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Thanks :thumbup2:

Hi levjennifer,

We need to run ComboFix again with instructions to remove some files.

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::
c:\windows\sto453189.dat
C:\aqrts.exe
C:\pbouj.exe
c:\windows\system32\gipekuya.exe
c:\windows\system32\walojofe.dll
c:\program files\Common Files\ocakebuxoh.exe
c:\program files\Common Files\ocyjukyny.ban
c:\program files\Common Files\sabetixa.lib
c:\program files\Common Files\vezofupyga.dll
c:\program files\Common Files\zubyqojin.vbs
c:\windows\system32\batiweja.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\dabezoda.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\dapavama.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\fiwupaga.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\kufiselu.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\kusavapu.dll
c:\windows\system32\lazimiki.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\linanotu.dll
c:\windows\system32\luwupane.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\luyehije.dll
c:\windows\system32\mewisale.dll
c:\windows\system32\pupuzuri.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\rosovoti.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\rugobiho.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\sadezaji.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\tuhuguhi.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\wopeneda.dll
c:\windows\system32\wuzijopu.dll
c:\windows\system32\yiwuhuyu.dll.tmp
c:\windows\system32\yutepuwa.dll

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

Posted Image

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

Hi levjennifer,

How is the PC running now?

Let's run a scan online to pick up any other stuff.

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

  • Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  • It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  • When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  • Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
    • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
      Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under Scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  • You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  • Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  • Please post this log in your next reply.
Please also post a new DDS log.

Things "seem" to be running okay, but then again that was what happened before; the original problem disappeared until two days ago. I want to make sure it's gone for good and to know how often I should scan/log for this. Please advise.

Hi levjennifer,

We're not quite done yet. I will answer your questions before we have finished.

Okay, one more run of Combofix as there appears to be other files.

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::
c:\windows\PEV.exe
c:\windows\sed.exe
c:\documents and settings\jennifer\g2mdlhlpx.exe
c:\docume~1\alluse~1\applic~1\yzyqybimak.vbs
c:\docume~1\alluse~1\applic~1\emyxofyji.dat
c:\docume~1\jennifer\applic~1\uvubu.vbs
c:\docume~1\jennifer\applic~1\hixujil.pif
c:\docume~1\jennifer\applic~1\bosajog.scr

Driver::
Ndv466k

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

Posted Image

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

Please also post a new DDS log. Thanks :thumbup2:

That looks good. :thumbup2:

How's the PC behaving now?

Let's run an online scan to make sure there's no bits left over.
