As a general idea, you may need to upgrade your graphics drivers, and check the games' sites for Vista patches.

1. XP and wait until W7 (and its first service pack) have been issued.

2. I prefer Firefox, but you can use both then decide which you like better.

3. See the tab at the top of the page "Startup List." This offers guidance about which is needed, optional, etc. When in doubt about an entry, leave it alone and post about it in the Vista forum. Many applications have "quick launches;" these certain speed up opening a programme when you need it, but at the cost of part of it running constantly in the background.

Cheers,
John

upgrade graphics card drivers like jgweed said and sound card and any other thing you can fined that updates some thing in your computer expect things like bios updates as they may make the computer worse

update windows vista

plus do you play old games? like diablo 2
well running them in windows 98 compatbilti mode may help
right click on the game exe or shortcut and you should thing a tab for it
