Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

K

unfortunately during this time period my pc hard drive went on ahead to hard drive heaven. Its gone. but I do have my pc desktop here at home that has been shut down for a few months due to the same problem. I had to rev it up to finish school when my pc hard drive crashed and what do u know its infected as well.

But this time it is hard to get my virus scans to run becasue this SPYWARE PROTECT 2009 pop up is blocking everything.

So What do i do ? I cant afford to loose another pc at this time, I know that you are all busy but if there is anyway you can get me moving on this asap. I am on a friends laptop today so I can check back often.

Hello.

Does DDS not work? What is the situation right now? What problems are you encoutering?

If you have a flash-drive or better a CD and a CD burner software you can transfer the tool we need from your clean machine to your infected one.

We'll start off with Combofix.

Install Recovery Console and Run ComboFix Through A CD's/Flash-Drive

Download the tools needed to a flash drive or other removable media, and transfer them to the infected computer. It would be better if you can use some spare CD's and a CD burner to avoid infection going onto your clean machine. If you are going to use a removable drive, please run the following tool on your clean machine first.

Download and Run FlashDisinfector
  • Please download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
  • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
  • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
  • Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden file named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.

Download Combofix

Download Combofix from any of the links below, and save it to your desktop.

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

Download Microsoft's Windows XP boot disk

With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have the Windows Recovery Console pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Go to Microsoft's website => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994

Select the download that's appropriate for your Operating System

Download the file & save it as it's originally named.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Transfer the programs via CD/Removable Drive

Transfer all files you just downloaded, to the desktop of the infected computer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Run Combofix
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications before running Combofix! This can be usually done via a right click on the System Tray icon. If not disabled they may otherwise interfere with our tools.

  • Drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it.
  • Follow the prompts to start ComboFix and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Recovery Console.

  • At the next prompt, click 'Yes' to run the full ComboFix scan.
  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Let me know how it goes and post the Combofix log in your next reply.

Extremeboy
