Hello, I've been having this adware problem for the past week. When I click on a hyperlink a new browser window might pop up, that sends me to a porn site. That only happens about once a day. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate with Firefox 3 as browser.
I had McAffee installed, but it has expired since then (free trial(?) version I received with my pc). Since this problem came up I have downloaded, installed, updated and ran full scans with the following programs: Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes-Antimalware, SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition, Ad-Aware and Avira AV. Also run Spywareblaster's online scan. They found some cookies and a Proto.dll that was supposedly a malware, but removing those still didn't solve the problem.
Previously I was experiencing a problem with loading Firefox 3. It turns out that McAffee's firewall was blocking the program, so when I gave access back to Firefox everything seemed to work fine. According to the instructions I followed to solve this problem from Mozillazine, this was due to some Firefox update that my firewall didn't like and that there was probably nothing wrong with my computer. I still thought I should mention this since both of those are chronologically connected.
