Hello,

A few days ago I posted my DDS logs in the HiJackThis Forum and have been logging on for the past couple of days to see if I've received a reply to my post. No replies yet, however the instructions for the forum indicated that patience would be necessary. Since the day I've posted my logs, I've done nothing extra on my computer except log on daily to this site to see if my post has been replied to. Today (5/5/09), when I turned on my computer to the following message appeared "Isass.exe - System Error Object name not found". This message appeared before the password login screen. I tried to click "OK" but the computer did not respond. I had to resort to manually shutting off the computer and turning it back on again. This time the computer proceeded to the password log in screen. My greatest fear each time I turn on this computer is that I wont be able to make it to this site to get my reply from my initial posting because the invaders will have taken over and will have completely shut me down and out.

Well if anyone can keep me at least able to log on and get to this site...this will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a techy so hopefully this is enough information for help

Processor AMD Athlon ™ XP 3200+/Socket A/2191/200 mhz

Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks Ranger for the quick reply,

I read the information and the site resources look tempting, however I just remembered that the instructions for "after posting my dds logs" indicated not to make any changes to the computer or this would interfer with the data in the logs sent.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again

Hello

Because you have a log posted here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/224360/computer-is-infected-with/ you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.

If you are still experiencing this issue once you have been declared clean, send a PM to a moderator to reopen this thread.
