Is your A/V Kasperski? If so there is a setting on it that will remove pictures from sites (especially if they have the word banner in the name, or the directory path) I have experienced this before

Does it not display images on all sites?
Or only some sites?
When you say it doesn't display, is the image replaced by a small red cross icon, or is it not there at all?

If it's a red cross on (some) sites the image may be missing or the path could be wrong.

If they are not there on any site, I would check the settings on AVG, there must be some somewhere, Or have a look at your browser settings.
Have you inadvertently changed any settings so as not to display images? Could someone else have changed them?
