Hi everyone,.My computer has been running slow. I have tried many things(clean out internal, updates, malware scans, defrags, etc) to speed it up and recently came across HiJackthis. I wanted to know if someone could look over my log and let me know what they think. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. You can find information on A/V control HERE

Ok, so I have attached the DDS file as you requested.

No worries about taking a little while to responde. Any and all help is appreciated.

Ok, My computer was always very fast. I have now had it for about 2 1/2 years. One day I decided to download a program from www.download.com that monitored my CPU temperature. As soon as it downloaded My computer turned off. I immediately panicked. I looked at my tower and the power button was amber colored. I pushed it and the internal fan came on and was very loud and spinning very fast. Nothing came on the monitor though when i turned it on. I turned it off and back on two more times and the same result came. The third time, however, I pulled the power cord out the back. Then after about 10 seconds plugged it back in and turned it on and it started normally. I went in and looked for the program but it was not fully installed so it was no where to be found. Ever since then my computer has been really slow. THe startup time is really slow. My resource monitor says that i have dangerously low resources when I load internet explorer. I have recently disabled the resource manager along with many unneeded startup programs. Everything loads really slow. I went in and cleaned out many areas on my computer. I deleted all unneeded programs. I have 400gb free on my hard drive so I know that is not an issue. I have defraged that multiple times. I have done disk cleanup. I pulled everything out internally and cleaned all the dust out. I put new thermal compound in between the cpu and heat sink to ensure the cpu is not overheating. I have done multiple virus scans, malware scans, etc and nothing has cured the problem.

I am beginning to believe it is a hardware issue. I wanted to see what you guys thought. I do have some experience troubleshooting computers but I cant seem to figure this one out. So if these scans do not show anything wrong what would you suggest I do? Replace anything?

Thanks for your help in advance. I appreciate it.

Hi Jesse_C,

Can't see any issues with logs. You might want to ask for opinions at forum's hardware area :thumbup2:
