I wanted to do windows update, and nothing happened.

So I went to control panel, and all that happened was it flashed.

And in my start menu, I hover over control panel and it says: [EMPTY].

I did the cmd thing and put fsc /scannow

It said it repaired some thing and some not.

Help please.

For future references: I have Vista 64 bit. I also have a backup D drive with all the OS information.

It said it repaired some thing and some not.

Could you be a little more desriptive?

Have you done any virus scans?

Full scan with SAS and MBAM, both updated.

It said it left a document with a description of what happened.

It said: "Some files were successfully repaired and some were not able to be repaired." Something like that to a degree.

I also did the error-checking on C: drive and it said nothing was wrong..

Here is the log file from fsc /scannow: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xnyjztz2yjc

Had to upload it to medaifire since the document is 50kb bigger than the limit here

Omg omg.

For some reason my computer's lisence is "not genguine".

I went to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine and it says:

This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation.

Either an unauthorized change was made to your Windows license or a software program installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista..

How is this possible? It was working perfectly yesterday afternoon!

And I bought this 8 months ago from bestbuy.
