What is the make and model of your computer?
What type of video card do you have?
What type of audio card do you have?

You could download a copy of Everest. It will tell in detail what you have installed in your computer. You can find it here.

When I reinstalled XP a while ago, I had to install the drivers for my onboard sound which were on my motherboard drivers CD and also had to install the drivers for my video board and I used the disk that came with that, too.

Perhaps you need to do the same.
