my virus is un-deletable

hi, i hope i'm posting in the right section.
i'm at my wits end, i have located the virus in the windows/system32 folder. it is also in my add ons and keeps enabling itself. it is called Jiseruyi.DLL. it didn't show up in both my NOD and windows defender scans. It stops my computer from acessing the internet and it takes away control of the mouse occassionally and freezes it. the file is write protected, i have tried unchecking that in properties. i am not sure what other files may be malware, this is the only name i'm 100% sure is one.
i tried to upload a anti malware software that i downloaded off my laptop but i got an error message saying "ad aware" use windows update to manually upload programme.
i also downloaded autorun, googled all the files before either downloading them or leaving them and even found jiseruyi.dll this way and deleted it. but when i restarted my computer out of safe mode i couldn't delete from my hard drive.
i hope i have posted enough info, if you need more please tell me how i can get it for you.
oh yea i have disconnected my infected computer from the internet as i was afraid someone was hacking it.

Hello and welcome blue_diamond.
Let's try 2 scans if possible. First tho,I am moving this from XP to the Am I Infected forum...


ESET Online Scan; No installation required.
Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.

Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
Click Start
When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install
Click Start
Make sure that the options Remove found threats and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
Click Scan
Wait for the scan to finish
Use Notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic.


Next run MBAM:
Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (v1.36) and save it to your desktop.

If you have a previous version of MBAM, remove it via Add/Remove Programs and download a fresh copy.
  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself.
  • Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from
    here
    and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer,
    copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD
    and then copy it to the infected machine.
On the Scanner tab:
  • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is
difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please
do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you after scanning with MBAM.
Please temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.

i cant do the first thing because the virus wont let me go on the internet. it is definatelyy the virus because i called my provider and they said my connection was fine. should i just go onto the second thing you said?
eta: should i stop posting in this thread since its in the wrong section and look for it in 'am i infected?'

Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it.

Before saving any of your security programs, rename them first. For example, before you save Malwarebytes', rename it to something like MBblah.exe and then click on Save and save it to your desktop. Same thing after you install it. Before running it, rename the main executable file first

Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run.

If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files, right-click on mbam.exe and change the .exe as noted above. Then double-click on it to run..

Another work around is by not using the mouse to install it, Just use the arrow keys, tab, and enter keys.

Open up command prompt, type in following commands:
XP >> click the Start menu at the lower-left of your computer's desktop and select "Run". Type cmd into the Run box and click "OK".
Vista >> click the Start menu at the lower-left of your computer's desktop and Type cmd in the search box.

regsvr32 vbalsgrid6.ocx

If you cannot use the Internet,you will need access to another computer that has a connection.
From there save mbam-setup.exe to a flash,usb,jump drive or CD. Now transfer it to the infected machine, then install and run the program.
If you cannot transfer to or install on the infected machine, try running the setup (installation) file directly from the flash drive or CD by double-clicking on mbam-setup.exe so it will install on the hard drive.

Manually Downloading Updates:
Manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer, copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.[/b]***

Try using a System Retore Point prior to the date of infection. You may be able to update and run MBam. Note this did not remove the malware.

hi, thanks for the reply. i uploaded it onto the infected computer via my usb, renamed it, renamed the extention and installed it but it wouldnt run so i went into programme files and found the malware bites folder but it is empty. did i maybe not copy it properly onto my desktop? i dragged and dropped it from my usb folder onto the desktop and installed it.
also i tried running from the usb and desktop and it says acessed denied.
oh and my computer currently wont allow me to system restore, I do have save points from before The infection BUt when i press on the last 'next" button it just wont do anything.
eta: should i have been doing all this in safe mode?

Ok, Let's try these first then . They are to be run from safe mode and should have less interference.. Then mbam may work also after these.

ATF and SAS:
From your regular user account..
Download Attribune's ATF Cleaner and then SUPERAntiSpyware , Free Home Version. Save both to desktop ..
DO NOT run yet.
Open SUPER from icon and install and Update it
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
Close browsers before scanning.
Scan for tracking cookies.
Terminate memory threats before quarantining
.
Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program. DO NOT run yet.

Now reboot into Safe Mode: How to enter safe mode(XP)
Using the F8 Method
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode
.

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox or Opera browser click that browser at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program
.

NOW Scan with SUPER
Open from the desktop icon or the program Files list
On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
Perform a Complete scan. After scan,Verify they are all checked.
Click OK on the summary screen to quarantine all found items.
If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally.

To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log.
A text file will open in your default text editor.
Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
Click Close to exit the program.
