hey guys i got the sony dw-u18a
it appears to be fine but wont read cds
and its a lite on rebranded drive SOHW-832S
so is their any new firmwarwe for the sony and if not should i update it to the liteon SOHW-832S firmware?

plus i got a asus drw-1814bl
theirs a firmware update for that to should i update it?

What version of Windows do you have ?

Was the Sony drive working & quit ?

A firmware update probably isn't going to help.


On the other one, if it works don't "fix" it.

well the asus one is working fine
just says the firmware update will impove burning
