Hi there,

About 3 weeks ago I bought a new Canon scanner. I mostly scan multipage documents which I turn into pdfs. For the past 3 weeks I've had no problem doing this--until today.

For some reason after about 10-20 pages into a document the scanner locks up with the status window just saying "Scanning". I found that if I wait anywhere from 1-3 minutes a small error window will pop up on my monitor. On the title bar it says "Readregs" and above the OK button it says "error".

When I click the OK button on the error message the scanner kicks back into action for about another 10-20 pages then the same thing happens. When I'm able to finish the document and save it I find that all the pages I've scanned do end up in the final pdf.

I've uninstalled/restarted/reinstalled all the software and drivers but the same thing happens.

Is it a memory issue or something with the scanner.

I'm totally baffled. Thanks.
YYY

Is it a Windows error message...or a software message?

It looks like it belongs to a process called trkjob.exe which is part of Canon's software called "Job Registration Tool". This is used for setting up scan jobs. Any thougths?

Uninstall all software/drivers for the scanner/device.

Check for updates at Canon website.

Download updates, if such exist. If same versions as you currently have, download anyway.

Install drivers/software.

You could also check the Canon forums for additional info on that error.
