Winsocks5.exe roblems

I'm sorry for taking your time I might have solved the problem my self.

I got a really pain in the b... problem with winsocks5.exe

I tried to end the process and delete the file in the system folder C:\windows\winsocks5.exe

and in C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch

Allso I searched through regedit and deleted all values with the extension winsocks5.exe

When all this is done it doesn't show up untill I turn on my computer again and it pops up through norton.

I read about it on several pages and follwed a list of procedures but never the less it's still here.

I ran Hijack and here is the log file :

Hi Again

Sorry for taking your time, but i might have solved the problem my self.

After loooking through the hijack log I found this one :

Wich I must have overlooked in my previous attemts to removed winsocks5.exe

10 minuttes after rebooting I still havn't got the norton pop up :thumbsup:

If it should show up again I will Post it again

I think it would be a good idea to post your log in the HijackThis area rather than here. I'm pretty sure you've got other problems, such as a CoolWebSearch variant, and I'm not sure you removed the Graybird.F virus by deleting a file. Make sure you read the pinned topic, "How to Submit a Hijackthis Log" and you can post here.
