Computer VERY sluggish while reading dvd's.

Problem: Computer wont load anything or is very slow after i put a dvd in either of my dvd drives.

Prior to Problem: I had some malware problems and reinstalled windows.

Now when i put anything in my drives my computer just freezes. when it's not completely frozen it lags really bad (mouse skipping across screen when moving it, programs not opening)

2.33 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo

Was pretty sure i had 4gb of ram...but took the ram chips out to clean out the pc and it says i only have 2gb.

It would be better if you post specifications of your computer and the model of your DVD drive.
