getting rid of File ASSASSIAN

i tried file assassian,and now ive tried to get rid of it,it wont go away from my emails or files on my windows xp,dell vostro 1700
say i hit start button and try to remove the note pad icon i hit my mouse right button and a scroll screen pops down,and file assasian is there unlock file and delete tab as well.................what am i missing or not doing to rid myself

its in my "c" drive someplace and i cant delete it it says file is in use?

Try removing it while in safe mode.

there are some very dubious sites that offer that app as a stand alone app.concered where you downloaded it from.
