I have switched to Ubuntu to help avoid viruses, in fact I had one before switching that Norton 360 did nothing about, spybot S&D did nothing about, so I switched operating systems and STILL running across same problem... I had even used a hard drive 3x rewrite tool before loading new OS. I am dual booting Win XP and Ubuntu I use Opera to surf mostly. When I do Yahoo searches, when I click the link I want I get sent to other no name search engine results or other misc sites... or when I am visiting sites and click on a link I will get the strangest google search results instead of going to the link I wanted.

With everything I have done to get rid of this huge pain in the @$$, I can not figure out where this virus has stored itself, is it possible its on the router??... if so that causes another problem since I am a tenant using the landlords router connection.

Please someone help and any help to prevent this would also be greatly appreciated.
