My pc has started to just power off at different times for no aparent reason. It
would do it every once in awhile but now its like every 10 min or so it
powers off.

The only odd thing is the power light remains on as if it was still on but
it is off. I have to actually unplug it and plug it back in in order to
restart it.

any ideas?

Suspect number one: Power supply, IMO.

more than likely power supply but also could be a thermal issue (overheating CPU etc).

Look in the BIOs for any logs\history that tell about shut down or errors. If nothing there I would check the even viewer in Windows and see what it says.
