d/l'd a a driver i NEEED to play sound on my computer and when i click on it says " you must be logged on to this pc as an administrator and ive been online searching the answer to this problem because i set my account to be a computer adminstrator NOT limited and it wont work, Even when i go into Safe Mode like i was told to do to sign in as the automatically installed Admintrator account by XP it still says Must be logged in as adminstrator. Then I found out how to sign in as adminstrator in normal mode and it had worked up to where you have to put in the password where when i put in the correct password it say [ cant log in due to account restriction]. Ive tried almost everything the ALT+ Ctrl + DEL log Technique that didnt work, All safe modes and nothing worked . Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo Plz can you help me because the same happens with the video driver.

Try this:

Start - Run - type "regedit" [without the quotes] and press Enter.

Now navigate here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\DisableMSI

If you have that key, set the Value to 0.

Reboot.

Hmm... maybe your catroot2 folder is corrupted.

Try this:

Start - Run - type "cmd" [without the quotes] and press enter.
type "cd \" [without the quotes], and press Enter.

Now type the following, pressing enter after each line:

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
