hi everyone im new here and just wanted to say hello and hope u can help me.....i have a gateway laptop model# mx8711 that was doing just fine one night then the next day would only boot to bios, i never see the windows xp splash screen......in bios it shows mem test ok and shows both cd/dvdrom and hard drive.....but then when i expect the hard drive light to start flickering and start loading windows then nothing happens....ive even tried to reload from the windows xp disc...actually have tried 2 different discs and i know the cdrom is working cause u can hear it spin up....is this a hard drive failure or more likely a motherboard failure.....please help me and i do appreciate everything :thumbsup:
