Hi bajoplayer, I had the same problem and there is an Intel® PRO/Wireless Driver Update to correct this problem. The update was released by Intel on 4/9/09 and corrects the problems for PCs with the following driver versions and Vista Home Premium 64-bit operating system:
Microsoft Windows Vista* 64-Bit Drivers for Intel® WiFi adapters.
Wi-Fi Driver Versions:
-Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350: 22.214.171.124
-Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150: 126.96.36.199
-Intel® WiFi Link 5300: 188.8.131.52
-Intel® WiFi Link 5100: 184.108.40.206
-Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN: 220.127.116.11
-Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection: 18.104.22.168
If this applies to you, then go to your hardware mfr's support site and search for the updates for your particular pc model. The driver update should be in the wireless or network categories.
I tried just about everything else for the last month until I found this fix. I downloaded 3 days ago and it has taken care of the problem.
