Hi bajoplayer, I had the same problem and there is an IntelŽ PRO/Wireless Driver Update to correct this problem. The update was released by Intel on 4/9/09 and corrects the problems for PCs with the following driver versions and Vista Home Premium 64-bit operating system:

Microsoft Windows Vista* 64-Bit Drivers for IntelŽ WiFi adapters.

Wi-Fi Driver Versions:

-IntelŽ WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350: 12.4.0.21
-IntelŽ WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150: 12.4.0.21
-IntelŽ WiFi Link 5300: 12.4.0.21
-IntelŽ WiFi Link 5100: 12.4.0.21
-IntelŽ Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN: 12.4.0.21
-IntelŽ PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection: 12.4.0.21

If this applies to you, then go to your hardware mfr's support site and search for the updates for your particular pc model. The driver update should be in the wireless or network categories.

I tried just about everything else for the last month until I found this fix. I downloaded 3 days ago and it has taken care of the problem.

In case you cannot find it on your hardware mfr site, here is the link to Intel with the info...check to see if this applies to you.

Hi there

Are you using a wireless setup?

If so, check out this article for tips on improving your wireless connections.

The most important tip included in that article is changing your wireless channel. This will prevent crosstalk with other wireless routers in your area which is the most common cause for connection dropouts.

You're quite welcome. If you need help with anything relating to this problem please ask. I will need to know your router's make and model as well as the make and model of the system(s) you are using to connect to the internet through it.
