Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 3

Important!
You should NOT use Combofix unless you have been instructed to do so by a Malware Removal Expert.
It is intended by its creator to be used under the guidance and supervision of an Malware Removal Expert, not for private use.
Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Make sure that you save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Posted Image If I have helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight against malware.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/vir...Win32/Renos.BAH

Any difference in how your computer is behaving?

Copy and paste ALL the following text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as../Save as Type: 'All Files' /File name: CFScript to your desktop.

Registry::
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon]
"Shell"=-
Prior to running Combofix.exe you should disable your antivirus program.

Now drag then drop the CFScript file onto ComboFix.exe as seen in the image below.

Posted Image

This will start ComboFix again.
After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply.

================

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
  • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

I would also uninstall Viewpoint from your computer.

I still have 'agent' on the start-up tab of msconfig. It doesn't have pc.exe anymore though.

If I don't have symptoms should I try to remove/find Renos.BAH ?

What indication are getting that you have this? Please post specific info that is detected.

Yes, you should remove all Viewpoint programs. Viewpoint is considered foistware. It's not terribly bad, but certainly not a program that should be supported. You can review these links for more details.

Please download random's system information tool (RSIT) and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run it.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

From the description of Renos.BAH that you linked me to it would have been similar to the privacy center pop-ups. It showed up on an automatic widows scan after rebooting when I downloaded the first of these programs. I told me it was detected but could not be removed unless I used spy or malware. But like I said no symptoms.

Automatic windows scan? What program is that? Can you run it again?
Without more information I can't tell you if it's a threat or not.

I still need to see the RSIT log.

I believe it was a windows or microsoft scan definately not norton or anything aftermarket. It was detected during a restart after running one of the first programs that I downloaded from this forum.

Since you have no symptoms and we can't research the info further I'm going to assume that it was a false positive.
