My Vista 64 is infected with a ton of maleware. I ran Avast in safe mode and came up with these infections which were deleted, Killcmos-j, VB-FXE, Trafficso'l, adware-gen, Ataker, malewareC.sbi. I deleted the files, ran Spybot ,Adaware and Ccleaner. When I re-booted I ran windows update. It is not running that badly now, but It looks like I am not done . Avast says possible infection with wma: wimad [Drp]. Please help me ! I have a Hijack This Log . Thank You in advance- Stephen Williams

Hello Steve.

It has been more than 2 weeks since your initial log posted. These boards are super-busy.
Please advise if you have obtained help elsewhere or if the same issues are around and you have no fix.
If the latter, please do the following, as we will need fresh up-to-date reports:

Show all files:
  • Click the Start button, and then click Computer.
  • On the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
  • Click the View tab.
  • Locate and uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
  • Locate and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
  • Locate and click Show hidden files and folders.
  • Click Apply > OK.
Given that this is a Vista system, on most all of the following programs and tools, you will need to do a right-click on the program link or shortcut or desktop icon (as appropriate) and then select "Run as Administrator". Please remember that as you go along.

Keep Tea Timer permanently turned off. It is overkill on a Vista system; and in any event, hampers/blocks cleanup efforts!
Right click the Spybot Icon in the system tray (notification area).
  • If you have the new version 1.5, click once on Resident Protection and make sure it is Unchecked.
  • If you have Version 1.4, Click on Exit Spybot S&D Resident

If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
Exit Spybot S&D when done and reboot the system so the changes are in effect.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds here or http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr or
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds

Disable any script blocker if your antivirus/antimalware has it.
Then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
When done, DDS.txt will open.
Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
Please include the following logs in your next reply: (Copy and paste all contents in body of reply box. Do NOT use the attachment option.)

DDS.txt
Attach.txt
