I have a thread under the "Antivirus" discussion concerning AVG not updating. I did get AVG to finally update and even got the box that shows the update as being successful, but after updating, the AVG Control Center will not open. All I get is a "ding" sound and then AVG stops responding, according to Task Manager. Should I uninstall AVG and reinstall it?
Also, while investigating this problem I ran HJT, will post that log below. I also looked at the "Misc. Tools" section of HJT and ran the Uninstall Programs option just to see what was listed, well there are a few things listed there that do not show in "Add/Remove Programs" list when accessed through the control panel. I would be greatful if someone could look at this log and see if these entries are potential problems or ?? Here is that log:
I have put an asterisk * next to the suspicious entries:

Adobe Acrobat 5.0
ArcSoft PhotoImpression

Forgot to mention in previous post, When I'm in my hotmail inbox I get the security alert box asking "Allow subframes to navigate across different domains?" I click on "NO" and the box disappears then pops back up, click "No" again box goes away again, comes back again, keeps doing this until I sign out of hotmail.

Thanks Groovicus! Just some quick info for ya, I uninstalled then reinstalled AVG Free and updated it and now it seems to be functioning properly.
I have also figured out what most of the entries in the "Uninstall" list under the "misc. tools" of HJT that I was unsure about are. For example, the entries that start with "ESS" are ok, they are part of my Kodak camera software. Here is my HJT log, I just made this log a few minutes prior to this reply. Thanks again!
