I trust someone can help me with this issue.

Running XP Media Center with SP3.

During windows startup, the following error message pop's up.

"ehtray.exe failed to load" This application has failed to start because powrprof.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

What application is involved? Where do i find it.

I hope someone can help with this.

thanks

Hi, do you have your XP disk? If so place it in the cd drive>open a command prompt and type this command in.
sfc /scannow
This will run Windows system file checker.

open a command prompt and type this command in.
sfc /scannow

You can still do this, with the preloaded XP it should find what it needs on the hard drive.. Give it a shot..

Yes, I can open the sfc/scannow.

There's a complete listing of files, program files, etc.

What do I do next?

What am I looking for?

Thanks for your help.
