Along the bottom....to the left of the Sys tray I used to have just "Display desktop". Now there is a Links addition that shows a bunch of AOL links AND an IE Explorer shortcut that when clicked on keeps adding new pages. It goes out of control and the computer ALWAYS needs to be just shut down since nothing else stops it. I have already used AdAware SE and Spybot SD.....
Any ideas?

Hello Gram2jalen and welcome to BC.

Those are Quick launch icons if they are near the Start Button, and Aol likely added them. Did you recently install or upgrade Aol, or do you even use it? Its not unusual to have an IE button there, but what is unusual is the behavior you describe. Has your homepage been changed without you doing it?
