Hard Drive Upgrade Help

I was given an older laptop. its a Hp pavillion ze4800. i upgraded the memory but the hard drive has a S.M.A.R.T. failure(hard drive imminent failure) so im looking to replace and upgrade it at the same time but having issues finding out what i can use. id like to get a better processor and hard drive, but kinda stuck. any help would be awesome!!

Get the specific model number of your lappy and see what internals it has.

i have all the "internals" 60GB (4200rpm) harddrive, Processor is a AMD Mobile Athlon XP 2.12 GHz

Is the HD SATA or IDE? Does the motherboard support the voltage and FSB of the processor you want to upgrade to?

It has IDE hard disk.

so being we have this info, does any one know how big of a harddrive i can use and maybe a faster processor and where i can find a good one?

Any of these drives should work. As for the processor I can't find the specific information for the motherboard in that laptop. Most likely the computer has the fastest processor it can support (its the fastest processor HP sells in that laptop).

Its an IDE ATA/100 or ATA/6 I checked the manufactures site. Make sure its a laptop HDD otherwise it wont fit.
