I am new here, after being directed by my father (a total computer geek/consultant/ex-senior systems analyst) because I am having some computer problems that I cannot solve, even with his help! I have looked around a little and I hope you guys can help me out.

A little about myself:

Due to my father's work in the industry I grew up with a PC in our house before anyone else I knew had one. It was an Amiga and the only program I remember ever using was the Paint program. In my teenage/college years I rebelled against my father's repeated pushing and tried to stay away from computer classes, etc., which I now regret. I am pretty good with computers despite that, although the only programming I can do is WYSIWYG websites and BASIC. Yes, BASIC, although my turtle skills are a bit rusty The computer I have now was self built and updated, but I had a lot of online help. I don't let other "tech" people (Comcast cable modem installer, I'm talking about you!) mess with my computer anymore. I have had too many bad experiences with people thinking they know what my computer "needs" and then messing it up only to have me spend more time fixing it than if I had just done it myself to begin with. I am a PC girl all the way, although I think the difference between Macs and PCs is dwindling rapidly and will soon be reduced to nothing more than price (OH, those expensive Macs!) and aesthetics, if it hasn't already. My husband is a artist and therefore a Mac owner, but I was the one who had to put in his extra memory!

Oh, and I have never posted to a forum before.

Anyway, Hi! I look forward to talking to ya'll.
