Setting Up A File Host On My Computer

I would like to setup a file host on my computer I have 500gb of space to use how would I go about doing this? I need a easy way to set one up so people can download & upload files I do now want to run a ftp.

You want people to be able to UPload as well as download but don't want to run an FTP server? There are other choices, then, though perhaps not as good IMHO.

You could run an HTTP server, HTTP File Server is an excellent little app: http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/
