Hallo and thank you in advance for your time.
I got a virus but I don't know the name of it, sorry.
Strange things happened to my pc lately:
Unsolicited mediaplayer popped up
Hijacking
someone's voices from the speakers and the noise of a keyboard
virus warnigs asking to download antiviruses that I did not download as I found out were viruses themselves, and so on...
I found out about Hijackthis and tryied to use it even if I have very limited knowledge and spent a lot of time on it. Eventually I made it to remove many files marked as suspicious or infected. Unfortunately there are 4 files that hijackthis does not remove. These are:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdateWin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\appendt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [UpdateWin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\appendt.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [UpdateWin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\appendt.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [UpdateWin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\appendt.exe
The following is also marked as suspicious
C:\Programmi\PANDA SOFTWARE\AVTC\PsImSvc.exe (the comment says it should be somewhere else)

Can I please post my log?
Is there a number I can call to work on it together
Thank you so much for your valuable help.
Best Regards
Gian

As no logs have been posted, I am shifting this topic from the specialized HiJack This forum to the Am I Infected forum.

PLEASE DO NOT NOW POST LOGS in this topic.

Given that you have been using HiJack This, I'm going to provide you with the instructions you need to follow to post appropriately in the HiJack This forum.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<==

If you cannot produce the DDS logs, then post back here, and we will provide you with further instructions.

Hello sistemajill,

I see that you were successful in posting your log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/219001/is-this-the-right-attachment/ Now that you have this log posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.
