I was experiencing problems with my internet-my browser has been diverting me to other websites by using pop-ups.sometimes i dont get diverted to other sites but the site i want still comes up in a pop up screen. I did a full scan using bit defender free edition ten which detected a pop-up trojan. it said it had in fected three files and the files location is in Temporary internet Files.

when clicking on a result from a google search - in my firefox history it say click before any page that i have opened. i have tried installing spyware doctor but i cant update it therefore cant use it-turned my firewall off and tried again but no luck. i dont know how to turn off my bitdefender.

Please help because i can't get rid of it! If anyone could tell me which is the affected file and what to do from there that would be great!

p.s looking through the log- there is only one that has no name and no file O2-BHO (no name). could this be the affected file?

Also is it normal that i cannot uninstall Windows IE? when i try a blue screen with white text comes up and then laptop reboots itself. could this be an effetc of teh trojan too?

This is a really desperate plea for help!

I am new to this sight and trying to sort out my own PC problems! Im going crazy trying to sort what seems to be a trojan-Please Help!!

Hello jessicat88,

I understand your frustration at the issues you are experiencing with your computer. We would please ask for your patience. We work with hundreds of logs every day, and all of our malware staff here are volunteers. No one is paid by Bleeping Computer for their assistance to our members. Our Techs work logs when they can, and and as they are able to do so.

Our backlog is quite large, as are other comparable sites that help out with malware issues. It may take a number of days to get a response to your problem, but we do not ignore posts.

The reason we do not add posts or respond to your requests is because that would remove you from the active queue that Techs and Staff have access to. This is why I have made edited my response into your last post rather than adding a reply.

Please do not create multiple posts on this issue as that creates massive confusion for everyone and delays the assistance you receive.

My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

In order to see what's going on with your computer I will ask for you to post various logs from the tools that we will use to resolve your issue. Please also share with me any information about how your computer is reacting and behaving each step of the way as we work through this process.


Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
  • On the Scanner tab:
    • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
    • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
  • Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.



We need to create an OTListIt2 Report
  • Please download OTListIt2 from here
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Push the "Run Scan" button.
  • The scan should take just a few minutes.
  • Copy the log that opens up and paste it back here in your next reply.
