i recently removed a virus from my computer but i think it did some damage to my computer and the way it runs exe files. every time i start any programs or when windows loads when i turn on my computer i get an error message telling me that the exe file is an invalid windows image. all i do is click ok and the program runs fine after that. windows is somehow misreading all my exe files or something. anyone have any ideas on how to fix that?

Worth a look, http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-569055.php

The filename listed in the link...can be any other file...but the procedure I would try would basically be the same (replace the file or program in question (uninstall/reinstall).

If the filenames continually change, I would suggest a repair install of XP as an attempt to overcome.
