I'm currently using McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i as my system's anti-virus. Is this program good enough to protect my system by itself or should I be running additional software?

On a personal note... I hate McAfee... Though theoretically, it should be enough to identify with scans, though I do not think they have prevention in their program like Avast does... But even still, regardless of how good any AV software is, it is always good practice to have additional software, such as firewalls, anti-spyware, and sometimes even registry scanners, or system temp file cleaners, such as CCleaner... Although I would urge anyone who doesn't know what they are doing with the Registry, to use a Registry Scanner, with the utmost caution...

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i contains all you need to fully protect your computer. Just practice safe surfing, ie. stay away from p2p, keygen and cracked software etc. and you should be okay.

I have been using McAfee software for nearly two years now and it's kept me perfectly safe in that time, in fact it's saved my bacon on more than a dozen occasions.

In recent testing at AV-Comparatives, McAfee was one of only four to receive their top award.

I just got McAfee Security with my new high speed service. To install it, I had to uninstall everything I already had. Now I am having trouble getting any sites to load. By hitting the "refresh" button numerous times, I can get some sites to load, but often not fully, or incorrectly. And very slow. I have tried manipulating settings, which helped some. But I do not really know what I am doing. If anyone can help me get the settings right, I would appreciate it. I am also concerned I might be reducing security wthout knowing it. Note: to compound the problem, I recently installed Internet Explorer 8 through yahoo. This worked fine before I installed McAfee. But I am wondering if some bad interaction between IE 8 and McAfee might be causing my problems.

If anyone can help me, thank you!
