To whom it may concern:

I'm running the 32-bit Version of Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1) on my Dell Inspiron 1420 Laptop.

This week, I've been receiving a couple of emails from a friend with a suspicious link inside. I received the email about 3-4 times and opened it up each time thinking that it was something actually from her, but I just got a real email from her saying that it is a virus. I never clicked on the link though. Coincidentally, my laptop has been slowing down a lot in the past few days and I'm not sure if it has to do with the email, possibly something with the Conficker virus, or other bugs that I might have on my computer. My computer doesn't freeze but it seems like everything tends to slow down for about 5-10 seconds each time. This is most noticeable when I'm watching a video online and everyone begins to talk very slowly as though the video is buffering all the time. I don't think it has to do with the internet connection.

After I shut down my computer for the first time in a week and turned it on again, I logged into my User Account but received the Blue Screen of Death and stop code 0x000008. I've done many scans with Malwarebytes before I got the BSOD today, and after I received it I went into safe mode and ran it another time but the computer says there's no problem every time. About a year ago I also had other BSOD problems but with a different stop code and I ended up reformatting my entire computer and I thought that fixed the problem. Right now I'm using my laptop in normal mode because I want to see if I get the same problem again, but so far the BSOD hasn't showed up, but I'm worried that while I may be working on something important, my computer might restart on its own (that's happened to me before). My first concern was that my computer was just slowing down, but now that I got the BSOD today I'm worried something else may be wrong. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
