I did search google and the other threads here, but none of the suggestions seem to work. It feels like a complete rebuild is in order (since this is one of many problems) but the computer is only two weeks old. I don't beleive it is hardware, since it seems to pass all hardware tests.

Anyway everytime I try and run MS updates I get this error:

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

Error number: 0x80072EFF

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well...did you try the suggested options?

If you have "many problems" on a 2-week-old system...seems that either you or your system is at fault.

If it's the system...send it back for repairs.

If it's not the system...maybe you need to review what you have done and how you have done it...and make some changes.

The error message you posted is pretty common but I don't see where anyone has a real clue to a solution.

Worth reading, IMO: http://www.mcse.ms/message1703503.html

the link provided did have this suggestion and it worked:

I was having the same problem just a few minutes ago. My comp updated to

windows update v6 this morning and sometime between then and now I turned off

the JIT compiler for virtual machine (in internet options)... I turned it

back on and ...voila, it worked.

Even if all seems to be well...I would watch it for some time, at least a couple of days.

Nice work .
