I want to download a multi-protocol messaging program, and I am stuck between these two. I've heard mixed reviews about both of these and wanted to know which one is truly better. I'd appreciate input from everyone on this matter.

According to the chart at the bottom of Wikipedia's article on Multiprotocol instant messaging applications. It appears Digsby has much more stable cross platform compatibility. As in a lot more green boxes than Pidgen.

Other than that, since both are free. Try them and see which one works best for you. Then uninstall the one that doesn't cut it.

I use Pidgin in Linux and like it very much. Haven't tried it on Windows.
On Windows I have used Triilian with no problems

Have not used Digsby bit it looks very nice.

I have used both for some time now and find Digsby to be the better of the two.
Regards,

Alan.

Thank you for the responses, everyone. I think I'll try Digsby for now; it looks more feature-rich.
