When you save the hijackthis log it should automatically open the log file in notepad. Just paste the contents of the notepad into a reply to this

I e-mailed matrixv with some tips on posting... hadn't seen a response here or in hjt forum. received an e-mail today. I checked for the registry entry mentioned myself, but I'm limited in understanding still, so I'm posting the content here:

hi phawgg,
thank you for responding to the bleeping computer forum on my dilemma with
the high jack this program. i had deleted it from before and downloaded it again and it is like my system remembers that i placed it in microsoft works and i have tried to switch different ways to get it to accept wordpad, yea so far i understand how to cut and paste, usually i don't have any problems, so this was oh no to me. the one thing i wanted checked that didn't seem right was
hklm:run(mnffnqk)c:windows\chxefp.exe...
no one seems to know what this is, microsoft was clueless, it doesn't seem to be one of their programs and it won't delete. spybot: it doesn't even show up. i was wondering is it causing this window to pop up saying: working offline, no connection to the internet, when you uncheck workoffline, the page flickers and then the next you look, it's back.
well enough for now, it's my birthday and i started yesterday, so i am a bit tired.
thanks for the advice then and now if ya can help or any suggestions.
sincerely,
matrixv

Edit: anyone see anything in this clue?

BTW...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATRIXV :flowers:
patiently patrolling, plenty of persisant pests n' problems ...

He should post a log so we can see it. He should save the log file and attach it instead of tryuing to post it through notepad

Just would like to say that I cant get a hijack this log to open in notepad. I use wordpad. When I choose notepad wordpad opens. At least I was able to go from there.....Oh a belated Happy Birthday! And welcome to B.C. matrixv!
