hi bc,

ive been a good boy, why me?

ever since i dl'd spybot 1.4, Microsoft AniSpy reports there have been sites trying to add themselves as trusted sites to IE. specificaly 139mm.com

now i read this same thing happening to others. among other problems.

i uninsalled the 1.4 and installed 1.3.

during the update for spywareblaster, msspy reports 1gb.ru trying to add itself to IE's trusted sites. i blocked it too.

i visited 139.mm and it appears to be in Chinese.

after visiting 1gb.ru and finding it a (maybe) russian site, i decided to delete history, files, and cookies.

this is my problem;

tools>internet options, and i get a Windows popup that says,

"Restrictions
(red X) This Operation Has Been Cancelled Due To Restrictions On This Computer. Please Contact Your System Administrator"

i was able to complete my task throught control panel, but internet options in IE is still restricted.

i checked all System Explorers using msantispy and nothing apears to have changed.

everything else seems to be ok, not slow or hijacked. i will do all scans to make sure.

i have xp sp2
Ad-Aware se
spybot s&d 1.3
spywareBlaster
MicrosoftAntiSpyware
NIS 2005
SpywareGuard (not installed, sitting on desk top)

nothing has reported any changes (excepting msantispy occasionaly reporting and blocking said sites from beeing added to IE trusted sites)

what to do?

ty for any help,
igo

Sounds to me like you may have a trojan. Try running a-squared.
