If anyone can tell me what to do, I'd really appreciate it. No one I've asked can figure out just how to fix this damned system32\bridge.dll which always comes up with a message when I turn my computer on of "could not be found".

I can't use Outlook when I use a dial-up connection at home. However, if I call a NetZero dial-up in another city long distance, I have no problem downloading messages into Outlook. At home I keep getting "Microsoft exchange server not found". Here's the log in the body and as an attachment.

Thanks!
SMH

To fix the annoying bridge.dll error do the following:

Please select the following with HijackThis. With all windows (including this one!) closed, please select "fix.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll",Load

Next, please download, update and run the A2 (A squared) anti-trojan. You can download it free at http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ . Let it fix whatever it wants to.

Also, run this pc through the Panda Scan Online virus scanner.

Next, reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log to this thread. There will probably be more to fix.

Please disregard any information you may have seen in the above post! (Thanks Groov!)

Look in Add/Remove programs and uninstall Lycos Sidesearch if you see it there.

Please boot into safe mode and select the following with HijackThis. With all windows (including this one!) closed, please select "fix.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = websearch.drsnsrch.com/q.cgi?q=
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ctqnmu] C:\WINDOWS\System32\dkytstm.exe

Then find and delete the following: C:\WINDOWS\System32\dkytstm.exe

Reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log and let me know how things are working.

Back again. I tried to delete the dkytstm.exe file, but I keep getting a "file is in use by another program" message, and the computer won't let me delete it.

I did everything else, and I tried to use Outlook again, but no luck there yet either. Still keeps telling me my server isn't available.

Hell, even if I can't figure that out, the malware and spyware you got off my computer has made it run so fast that I can't believe I was working on this thing and didn't notice. Performance has increased tremendously, and I can't thank you enough for that!

Any hints on how to delete that damned file? I didn't want to send another log until I get rid of it.

Try hitting crtl+alt+delete then ending task on the dkytstm.exe. Then try and delete it.

Got rid of one of them (there's still another one there for some reason with an O4 line), and the whole system runs really fast now. Still no luck with Outlook - keep getting this:

Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004011D) : 'The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.'

Doesn't affect me when I'm on the wireless network when I'm at school, so I'm lost there.

Here's the latest log. Ran my anti-spyware again, and I saw a lot of things associated with "mxtarget.dll" in an O2 line. Can't seem to get rid of that either.

Again, thanks so much for all your help!

Please select the following with HijackThis. With all windows (including this one!) closed, please select "fix.

O2 - BHO: MxTargetObj Class - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gshcxo] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dkytstm.exe

I have no clue about the outlook problem, it's not a program I use at all. It sounds like a configuration problem.

Reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log please.

I have no clue who you are, but I can't thank you enough. I'm back to normal operating speed, and you saved me from god only knows what with all the CRAP that there was hidden on my computer.

Not sure if I can do anything in return as I am obviously not a techie like you, but if you think of anything, give me a shout at my private message here.

Again, thanks so much for all the help!
