Could you please advice me some software, where I could easily do logos and buttons for a web page? "Paint" is a bit too simple for this. And Corel is a bit too complex for this.

Google web buttons and logos. Maybe you can find some ready made that will suit your needs.

the issue is I need to make my own buttons, with my own text there...

Personally, I would use either Gimp, or Inkscape... http://gimp.org, http://inkscape.org
