My sister is after a new laptop, as the one she has just now is falling to bits and somethings wrong with the battery as it needs pluged in all the time.

She only uses it for internet, word, music and watching movies, just general things not gaming.

the 2 that she has looked at are -

Toshiba Laptop

Compaq CQ60

both are roughly the same price.

Which one is the best for her, I think the toshiba is dual core, does that matter?

please let me know asap.

Dual core is nice, because it has the ability to multi-task much better. Its technology can better and Intel Pentium 4.

What are the speeds? (for ex. 2.6 GHz)

i would suggest she can go for a dual core, as it has better multitasking capabilities. If she wants to onlt use it for internet she can go for netbooks which lot more cheaper than laptops!!!!!!
