Hi All;

Running XP Home SP3 I find about 10 or so folders on my external storage drive such as: E:\0a3f97b262bdb792550b9e. Under that is usually a sub folder:
update\update.exe and looking at properties I find them to be a "Windows service pack setup" with dates of 2006. The largest one is E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\msxpsdrv.inf
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\msxpsinc.ppd
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\msxpsinc.gpd
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\filterpipelineprintproc.dll
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\mxdwdrv.dll
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\msxpsdrv.cat
E:\a3d408ea01d9345e176812d0\amd64\xpssvcs.dll

Where msxpsdrv.inf is a Microsoft system driver files for XPSDrv print drivers. I don't know about the others. The .inf file does appear in 5 places in the C:\Windows folder and obviously must be left alone.

What I am wondering is why they are on drive E: and can they be deleted? I have a suspicion that some are from an HP printer install.

I will be interested in your thoughts and advice.
Roger

They look like left overs from Microsoft updates.

Didn't we just do this yesterday?????

I just looked for your topics and only found this one. I looked through my participating topics and do not see the one that I could have sworn I replied to yesterday about this. I am baffled once again.

Anywho, all of those seem like windows updates and unless you inadvertently copied them onto your external drive, I cannot think of any reason they would be there. Since they are on an externeal drive, and if I am not mistaken, there is not an operating system installed on that drive, there is no reason they cannot be deleted.

I know I typed all this before, lol. Please tell me that you posted about this in the last day or two.

You are very welcome and I could not find the previous posts anywhere, even using many different methods to look. Thanks for telling me you really had posted that before, I am glad to know that I really did not lose what little bit of my mind I had left.
