Hello all

I'm honestly at a loss at this point.. I have spent the last 8 hours trying to figure this out...

I just installed Windows XP 64 Bit edition on this machine, and ran into some issues, but was largely able to get things working.

I went to the dell website here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=
and installed the driver here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...p;fileid=165080

I even wasted thirty dollars on one of those online "find-a-driver" utilities which claimed to be able to find things.

That driver does sucessfully install -- it creates a listing like the attached picture in device manager.

All the unknown devices are part of the sound card itself. Sure, the CODEC for 64 bit windows installed, but sound still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Hello, garmanma.

Positive.

Not worried about it anymore though... thanks for looking though. Ended up just getting another sound card.

Thanks again!
