Will not.

Visual C++ wouldn't install until yesterday.

I've ran a AVG Scan. I've ran a Kapersky scan. I've ran a Webroot scan. I've ran a avast! scan. I have Spybot. Have used that as well.

I've edited my registry of everything to do with DirectX. I've repaired XP. I'm going out of my frickin mind.

It still won't install.

HP Pavilion
XP Home Edition SP3
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2.00 GHz
Nvidia GeForce 7600

DX Error Log:

Oh wait...That's right! I deleted everything to do with DirectX! :thumbsup:

I get a "Internal System Error" while trying to install.

This all started one morning when I thought I'd play some Hitman Blood Money. "d3dx9_38" cannot be found. Oh. Okay. No prob. Downloaded dll put in system32. No overwrite notice. It didn't exist, apparently. "d3dx9_37" cannot be found. Oh. Okay. Downloaded dll. Did the same with "d3dx9_27". Ah cool. It works. Now to play some Fallout 3. Wait, it's not working....I was just playing this last night. Okay. Time to reinstall DirectX. WTF? NO ADMIN PRIVLEGES?!?!? I'M THE ONLY FRICKIN USER!!!!! Strange thing about all this....I was playing Fallout 3 the night before with no problems. Lol.

Solved that problem. Now DirectX gives me the same "Internal Error Crap".

Some dialouge from my DXLog before it went to electronic hell:

DownloadPlugIn() failed.

Oh, and something about user not having Admin Rights. Lol. Laugh riot! :flowers:

I've been all over the internet for a solution. If I have to reformat or reinstall XP, I will not be a happy bunny. But if that's the only solution, I understand.

Kind of.
