want to use wireless internet

in my college internet is provided at a subsisised rate.but the cable sockets are only provided only in the rooms those awhich are inside the campus.iam outside the campus due to a lack of rooms insidse.My room is atleast 70 metre away from the nearst cable socket.now i want to get connected to the internet through my college network.my idea is to use a wireless hub in the nearest cable socket & access the net in my computer or laptop.but i am a newbie who does not know the exact details on how to do it .i also want to know what i should buy (what kind of hub etc)kindly reply
