i had a problem with logging into my admin account http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/214345/logging-in-twice/ and was posted there but it has seem to be resolved as of now.it was also said i may want to check for malware so i'm posting a HJT log here to see if someone see's something i dont.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. You can find information on A/V control HERE

I do not see anything malicious in your log. We can perform an online scan to confirm this:

ESET Online Scan

Please go to Eset website to perform an online scan. Please use Internet Explorer as it uses ActiveX.
  • Check (tick) this box: YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
  • Click on the Start button next to it.
  • When prompted to run ActiveX. click Yes.
  • You will be asked to install an ActiveX. Click Install.
  • Once installed, the scanner will be initialized.
  • After the scanner is initialized, click Start.
  • Uncheck (untick) Remove found threats box.
  • Check (tick) Scan unwanted applications.
  • Click on Scan.
  • It will start scanning. Please be patient.
  • Once the scan is done, you will find a log in C:\Program Files\esetonlinescanner\log.txt. Please post this log in your next reply.

Lets do this:

Remove Quarantined Files
  • Open Spybot in one of the following ways:
    • If you have a shortcut on your desktop, double click it.
    • Click Start, then All Programs, then Spybot - Search & Destroy and then Spybot - Search & Destroy.
  • On the left side, click "Recovery".
    • NOTE: If this window is empty, you may skip the remaining steps. Exit Spybot.
  • Select (place a check) beside ALL the backup files that contain quarantined items.
  • Click on the Purge Selected Items button.
  • A dialog will appear, stating that the backup will be removed. Click Yes.
  • When the Recovery window is empty, Exit Spybot.
MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself.
  • Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer, copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.
On the Scanner tab:
  • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.

Other Deletions

Locate where you saved DDS.exe, right click the file and select Delete.

Take a read of this excellent tutorial:

Disable and Enable System Restore.

You should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point. You should now create a new restore point, since your system is clean.

You can find instructions on how to disable and re-enable system restore here:

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently
  • It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly.
  • This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer.
  • If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
System still slow?

You may wish to try StartupLite. Simply download this tool to your desktop and run it. It will explain any optional auto-start programs on your system, and offer the option to stop these programs from starting at startup. This will result in fewer programs running when you boot your system, and should improve preformance.
If that does not work, you can try the steps mentioned in Slow Computer/browser? Check Here First; It May Not Be Malware.

Next, I would recommend the download and installation of some (I would say two is enough) of the following programs:

Spybot© - Search and Destroy
  • This will provide real-time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection.
  • You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software.
SUPERAntiSpyware
  • You should also scan your computer with the program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software in conjunction with Spybot.
  • Each antispyware product has different detection rates for different infections, using different products therefore increases your chances of finding and killing most malware.
MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
  • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect.
  • Ability to perform full scans for all drives.
  • The "Quick Scan" option lets the user scan the computer quickly checking for the most damaging threats and completing in usually under 10 minutes.
Javacools© SpywareBlaster
  • SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer and Firefox settings and that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly.
Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Hello jat

the PC seems to be fine other than the problem of having to log in twice to my account which has seemed to be fixed after creating a new account and deleting the other admin acoount.
i did create a new restore point.
as for the other programs i already have malwarebytes and spybot and run them both often i also have spywareblaster ccleaner and secunia personal software inspector.
