I am a self taught computer user. I have usually learned how to use my computers by the trial and error method. I have 3 Grandchildren. The 5yo and 9yo love using the computer. No stress no worries. Too bad it's not the same for me!! I have a Compaq presario with Windows 98, I changed the hard drive and reformatted so I lost everything, including 3 years of my grandson's pictures. I had to install an OS I used Windows 2000 NT Professional and I changed the CD drive. I also have an HP Pavilion with Wnidows XP and a Gateway laptop with Windows XP.
