I am using MS Word 2002 and whenever I copy and past text from web pages it comes with what I believe are called frames (boxes around the text).
How do I remove these frames?

I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it but try this:

Highlight all the text in boxes
On the menu bar click 'Table'
Go down to 'Convert'
Click 'Table to Text'
