Hello awshucks78,

I have merged the two topics you created in the HiJack This forum to avoid confusion.

As no logs have been posted, I am shifting this topic from the specialized HiJack This forum to the Am I Infected forum.

PLEASE DO NOT NOW POST LOGS unless a log is specifically requested.

What is your operating system: Windows XP, Vista, etc.?

What symptoms are you experiencing: pop-ups, redirections, etc.? Please be as specific as possible.

What alerted you to the presence of Ultra antivirus 2009?

What security programs, besides MalwareBytes, do you have installed?

Orange Blossom

I'm trying to decipher what you have written here. It would be immensely helpful for everyone if you didn't use chat-speak and followed the conventions of standard English.

When posting, please use proper grammar. Refrain from 'text-message' style substitutions of words like 'u' for 'you', and 'ur' for 'your'. This is a multi-national forum, and some of our non-English speaking members must use translation software which is confused by abbreviations. Most of our volunteer members are very busy helping as many people as they can, and a post that is hard to read will often be overlooked.

From the Board Rules

That said, this is what I've been able to decipher:

Your operating system is Vista Basic

You have McAfee (is this the security suite?) and MalwareBytes

You've been getting pop-ups stating that your computer is infected and that you need to buy some rogue program to fix it.

This started after you changed your windows security settings.

Please describe the changes you made, also please confirm if I have interpreted your post correctly and fill in anything I missed.
